A former US Navy vessel used during World War II, wich later became property of The Mexican Navy, was sunk in the 1980s to create an artificial reef.
Barracudas, groupers, manta rays and other marine life frequent the area. Divers can swim around the entire ship as well as access all rooms (thanks to damage from 2005 hurricane Wilma, which split the vessel in two). It is a fascinating diving experience, recommended for experienced divers only as they have to go down to 25m/82ft and will face strong currents.
Diving equipment, bottled water and snacks.
